Person Centered Therapy (PCT)
This therapy is based on Carl Rogers’s belief that every human being strives for and has the capacity to fulfill his or her own potential. Person-centered therapy is also sometimes known as Rogerian Therapy or Client-Centered Therapy. Rather than viewing people as inherently flawed, with problematic behaviors and thoughts that require treatment, PCT identifies that each person has the capacity and desire for personal growth and change.
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)
Cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) is a practical, short-term form of psychotherapy. It helps people to develop skills and strategies for becoming and staying healthy. CBT focuses on the here-and-now—on the problems that come up in day-to-day life. CBT helps people to examine how they make sense of what is happening around them and how these perceptions affect the way they feel. It is usually structured, time limited and goal oriented. A lot of concepts used in typical CBT treatment can be used as tools in combination with other theories.
CBT can be used to treat anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, anxiety disorders, PTSD, and substance use disorders.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) is a type of cognitive-behavioral therapy. Its main goals are to teach people how to live in the moment, develop healthy ways to cope with stress, regulate their emotions, and improve their relationships with others.
DBT can be used to treat borderline personality disorder, suicidality, self-harm, ADHD, Bipolar disorder, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD and Substance use disorders
Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT)
Emotion-focused therapy (EFT) is a therapeutic approach based on the premise that emotions are key to identity. According to EFT, emotions are also a guide for individual choice and decision making. This type of therapy assumes that lacking emotional awareness or avoiding unpleasant emotions can cause harm. It may render us unable to use the important information emotions provide.
EFT can be used to treat depression, PTSD, anxiety, eating disorders, borderline personality and in a couples therapy setting.
