About Mikaela


Hey, I'm Mikaela (she/her)

You are ambitious and thrive on connection, but you’ve lost your drive and constantly feel behind and overwhelmed. You aren’t calling your friends because they don’t understand where you are at. You hesitate to commit to plans because you don’t know how you will feel that day. Your emotions regularly take over your day making it difficult for you to complete your tasks. You know you are capable of more, you wonder if you are depressed, but you are having difficulty pinpointing what’s wrong. You just know that you don’t want every day to feel like survival, you want to thrive. Maybe you are also a parent doing the best you can but feeling at a loss on how to support your kiddos. You want to raise them differently than you were raised but don’t know what that looks like. You want to show up for them the way you needed as a kid but you find their behaviours triggering and respond in ways you regret. Our work together will focus on empowering you through rebuilding your self-trust and sense of self, learning self-compassion, increasing your capacity to move through your emotions, decreasing overwhelm, and giving you the tools you need to show up for yourself and your kids well. I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. I completed an honours Bachelor in Nutrition Sciences at the University of Ottawa and am currently completing a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University.
