I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology Candidate and a Student member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. I have always known I wanted to help people, and counselling has been a dream of mine for many years. As I continue to practice I am under the supervision of 3 different supervisors, each offering unique perspectives on my cases.
When I am not working, I am likely with my husband. We enjoy hiking, camping, board games, movies and video games. We also spend a lot of time with family and friends and LOVE music and concerts.
I use a client-centered approach to therapy, which puts the relationship between client and therapist first. I incorporate skills from cognitive behavioural, and narrative approaches. Be sure to check out the techniques page for more information!
If you are unsure of which therapist would be the best fit for you, it’s my job to help you through the process! Be sure to reach out to me directly with any general questions
I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the CRPO. I am a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology Candidate through Yorkville University and a Student Member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. As a student, I currently work with a supervisor which ensures that as I fulfill my required hours I do so ethically. I’ve known my whole life I’ve wanted to use my skills to help and motivate others, especially youth. Throughout my undergraduate degree in Drama in Education and Community, I worked to teach and inspire youth. I found that my passion to work with youth expanded beyond what the classroom curriculum allowed. I found myself striving towards developing my skills as a therapist to better help youth facing challenges in their daily lives in the modern world. My preferred approached to therapy is through a Cognitive Behavioural perspective, which focuses on changing unhelpful or unhealthy thoughts and behaviours. I also enjoy incorporating elements of Solution Focused Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy as well as Motivational Interviewing. When working with clients I find that the best approach is to recognize their individuality and customize my therapeutic approach accordingly. I have experience working with individuals who are facing Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Self-Harm, ADHD, Depression, Anxiety, Grief and Trauma. Together we will work towards identifying how the therapeutic processes can be best suited for your personal therapeutic goals.
