Hey, I‘m Gabriella (she/her)

I am so excited you came across my profile! I know firsthand that embarking on the adventure to adaptive mental health is not easy, so I want to take the time to congratulate you on even looking into it this! I hope through introducing myself, what I believe in and how I can help you on your journey, you’ll stay a while.

I have spent the last four years working as a social worker in the Greater Toronto Area. During this time, I have worked in mental health facilities and school environments. I have worked with children, teens and adults on a number of presenting problems. These include individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, eating disorders, mood disorders, building confidence, supporting individuals who are neurodivergent working with individuals with special needs, those experiencing social isolation, those within the lgbtq2s+ community and individuals vulnerable to homelessness.

I believe strongly in the power of healing within the therapeutic alliance. I strive to facilitate collaboration amongst my clients so they feel supported in their mental health and their voice is heard within treatment planning. My goal is to walk alongside you as you begin your adventure

so you can feel empowered and supported on the journey to adaptive mental health.

I believe in approaching clients with an eclectic approach. While working with clients, my psychotherapeutic techniques include CBT, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive therapy, Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Person-Centred Therapy and Strength based-Trauma-informed practice principles.

My ultimate goal when working with you is to make sure you feel seen and heard within the session and support you on a path to building confidence and resilience to face whatever obstacles life throws.

Benefits of Working with Me

  1. I practice from an eclectic approach which means I approach treatment planning with the client being the central focus. I work to provide therapy that is as unique as the individual sitting in front of me.

  2. Having had the opportunity to be a social worker and working on the front lines of mental health delivery has offered me a multifaceted way of working and relating to people that I can bring forward in my psychotherapy approach.

  3. Being neurodivergent and queer gives me an outlook not always experienced by those outside these communities; therefore, I can offer clients lived understanding and empathy that may not come from those outside these communities.

  4. I believe learning is a lifelong skill. I strive to continue learning and extend research into counselling to best support those I work with.

  5. As a student therapist close to graduating, working with me means working with an individual engaging in ongoing supervision, applying feedback, and working with the most current research in the field.

Credentials

I hold a bachelor's degree in social work with a focus on Gender & Women's Studies from York University and a Master of Counselling from Yorkville University. I am a Registered Member Qualifying of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and a Professional Member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA).
