Challenging or distressing life experiences are more common than we often acknowledge. Your experiences and how you make sense of them are valid. You get to define what feels difficult to cope with, even if it doesn’t look “big” from the outside. Recognizing trauma is less about labeling an event, and more about honoring how it impacted you.

At Fancy Therapy, trauma therapy supports clients in reconnecting with a sense of safety and self. Healing follows your own pace in a way that feels empowering and. Curiosity and compassion are foundational in meeting the parts of you that have helped you survive with the care they need to begin healing.

Do any of the following resonate with you?

  • Your nervous system feels dysregulated or on edge.

  • You feel tired no matter how much rest you get.

  • You find yourself avoiding people, places, or situations that feel overwhelming.

  • Things that once brought joy feel distant or flat.

  • You notice that strong emotions tend to come up quickly.

  • Feeling safe in your body is harder than it sounds.

Tend To What You’ve Been Carrying

Trauma Therapy aims to help you cope with challenges and begin reclaiming your story in a way that feels empowering and true to you. Therapy is tailored to your unique experience, hopes, and pace. At Fancy Therapy Services we used trauma informed approaches to ensure that your experiences are explored safely within a window of tolerance, without overwhelm. How Does It Work?

While each therapist has a unique and tailored approach, many use a blend of practical strategies and trauma-informed therapeutic techniques like Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Eye Movement Desensitization, and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Somatic Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (TF-CBT) and more.

Healing from trauma is a unique experience for each person and there is no one-size-fits-all. Some moments may feel more challenging than others, and that’s okay. Therapy will focus on harnessing your strengths and finding ways to support your well-being that feel right for you.

Imagine a life if you could…

  • Reconnect with yourself and how you want to live your life

  • Feel more grounded and present in your day-to-day

  • Build trust in yourself at a pace that feels safe

  • Embrace your strengths as you find new ways of moving forward

As a psychotherapy practice based in Kitchener, Ontario, we acknowledge that our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabeg peoples. This land is part of the Haldimand Tract, which was promised to the Six Nations of the Grand River.

We recognize the longstanding relationships with the land that Indigenous peoples have maintained as its original caretakers. Our practice extends its services across Canada, and we acknowledge that our work spans many traditional Indigenous territories. We recognize that there are 46 treaties and other agreements that cover the territory now called Ontario. As we operate in various locations, we commit to learning about and respecting the specific Indigenous communities in each area where we provide our services.
