Procrastination is often framed as being a productivity problem. We are told that we need better discipline, stronger willpower, or more effective time management tools. For many people though, procrastination is not about being lazy or not having the motivation, but has a lot to do with emotions.
Conversations about disability and neurodivergence are often separated into neat boxes. On one side, we talk about physical or chronic health conditions. On the other hand, we talk about autism, ADHD, dyslexia, or other forms of neurodivergence.
Do seemingly small tasks often feel overwhelming? Do you spend more time thinking about completing tasks than completing them?
Have you ever walked into a room so loud or bright that you just wanted to escape? Does it sometimes feel like the world is turned up to max volume?

As a psychotherapy practice based in Kitchener, Ontario, we acknowledge that our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabeg peoples. This land is part of the Haldimand Tract, which was promised to the Six Nations of the Grand River.
We recognize the longstanding relationships with the land that Indigenous peoples have maintained as its original caretakers. Our practice extends its services across Canada, and we acknowledge that our work spans many traditional Indigenous territories. We recognize that there are 46 treaties and other agreements that cover the territory now called Ontario. As we operate in various locations, we commit to learning about and respecting the specific Indigenous communities in each area where we provide our services.
